NEW TREATMENT OF VARICOSE VEINS
Instructions for procedure and recovery

VARICOSE & VEIN CLINIC NEW WESTMINSTER
Improved Treatment of Varicose Veins
Preparation for saphenous vein ablation includes obtaining a Class 2 compression stocking kit with a waist attachment, as well as a vein procedure kit prior to treatment, all available on prescription at our clinic.
Immediately after the procedure, the treated leg will be wrapped in compression bandages, which will be removed at the clinic two days later. Patients are required to wear their compression stockings daily for three weeks following treatment. A 10–15 minute walk is required immediately after the procedure, and patients should continue walking several times a day, every day, at home to support healthy circulation and healing. Prolonged standing should be avoided during the recovery period to optimize outcomes and reduce the risk of complications.
There is no cost for the procedure. However, patients will need to provide the compression stockings, vein kit, and sclerosing solution.
